Which characters exhibit pathological symptoms?
Describe the symptoms.
Does the situation of the character(s) improve, stabilize, or deteriorate during the course of the novel/play/story(ies)?
What key incidents reveal the character’s pathology?
Does the author successfully describe the pathology? Would the description convince a professional in the field?
Is any indication given as to why the characters are experiencing difficulty?
Are the causes for mental illness as presented by the author credible?
